Week 28 (12 July - 18 July)

On Monday we got back to the academy in the evening and I just went straight to bed.

Little bonsai I bought in Siping

Tuesday was test day and because I hadn't completed the shaolin quan I didn't want to present it. I told my shifu that from the afternoon I wanted to start Sanda. In the afternoon I just learnt the basic Sanda stance and how to do the basic punch and block move. I practiced the basic moves whilst moving forwards.

On Wednesday I was a lot happier that I was no doing Sanda it made me realise how unhappy I had been doing shaolin. My arms and shoulder really hurt from all the upper body exercise. In the evening we did some sparring and I got hit in the face by the shifu and my nose started bleeding, I think it was revenge for making his lip bleed. The shifu told us that he had to go home and that he would be back following Wednesday and that we would have another shifu in the meantime.

Thursday morning we had a new shifu and I couldn't really do much because my upper body was so stiff and painful I couldn't do any punches so I just practised the stances and some kicks.

On Friday the rest of my body really hurt so we took the training easy, I can't believe that my body can hurt this much after6 months of intensive shaolin training, just shows that different activities use different muscles.

On the weekend I went to Yehe with Umit, we bought a whole bunch of crackers and spent most of the weekend throwing them in the lake and blowing things up. I also watched a few episodes of Iron Chef America which is actually torture because we couldn't possibly get any of that food out here.
